ATTN: To whom it may concern SUBJECT: Policy MSDS - Insul-Mate™ metal products An Article is defined in paragraph (C) in the following way: (C) Definition: Article refers to a manufactured item: • that is formed to a specific shape or design during the manufacturing • which has an end use function(s) dependent whole or in part upon its shape or design during end use; • and which does not release or otherwise result in exposure to a hazardous chemical under normal conditions of use. This is to inform you that we believe that Insul-Mate metal products meet the standards of the definition of an “Article”, as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard and, therefore, are exempt from the requirements of these regulations data sheet. The following Insul-Mate™ products meet the definition of an article; Aluminum, Stainless steel and Carbon steel (AZ55/60 or galvanized) bare or pre-painted metal jacketing formed into rolls or sheets, elbows, panels, wing seals, strapping and accessory products. a) these articles contain no leachable hazardous ingredients b) articles are stable at temperatures up to 450 degrees F and to minus 50 degrees F c) both bare and prepainted articles are non-combustible d) articles are stable and non-reactive to most chemicals (inquire about acids & caustics) and vapors e) when handling, cutting, grinding, drilling, and/or welding articles, wear protective industrial grade gloves, safety goggles or glasses or a welding shield and respirator for proper personal protection. Some of the prepainted articles utilize heavy metal pigments (i.e. lead, chrome) all within allowable limits for industrial products.
