INSUL-MATE™ Stainless Steel Jacketing DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS RPR Products Insul-Mate™ Stainless Steel Roll Jacketing is manufactured from T304 and T316 prime grade Austenitic stainless steel with a regular 2B mill finish for flatness and reduced glare. The yield strength is 30,000 PSI, the tensile is 75,000 PSI. For easy field fabrication, Insul-Mate Stainless Steel Jacketing is supplied in the annealed or soft condition. T304 is normally used except in the most corrosive areas where T316 is specified. Both T304 and T316 Insul-Mate Stainless Steel Roll Jacketing meet ASTM A240 and A666 standards. RPR Products Insul-Mate™ Stainless Steel Jacketing has a melting point of approximately 2500˚ F. Stainless Steel offers the best fire protection of all metals. Standards: ASTM-A240 and A666 Standards Thicknesses: .010” (.25mm), .016” (.4mm), .020” (.5mm), .024” (.6mm), .032” (.8mm) Other thicknesses available, please inquire. Widths: 36” (914mm) and 48” (1219 mm) Other widths available upon request. Lengths: 50’ (15 meters) Coils (specify length) Flat Sheets (cut to length) Cut & Rolled (specified length) Profiles: See Industrial Jacketing Data Sheet FINISH Insul-Mate™ Stainless Steel Jacketing is available in several finishes which include smooth, stucco embossed and in the lighter gauges, 3/16” corrugated (TVR). The stucco embossed finish on Stainless Steel Jacketing reduces glare from sunlight, adds strength and has more potential for masking application fingerprints, scratches, dents and other minor surface blemishes. APPLICATIONS The primary use of Insul-Mate Stainless Steel Jacketing is for hostile environments such as the pulp, paper, textile, refinery, petro-chemical applications and areas requiring higher temperature and fire resistance. MOISTURE RETARDER Insul-Mate™ Stainless Steel Jacketing products can be supplied with a, 40# kraft (1 1/2 mil polyethylene) or a 3 mil polysurlyn moisture retarder which is heat and pressure bonded to the interior surface. A moisture retarder helps prevent galvanic corrosion causes by contact of dissimilar metals in the presence of moisture or chemical corrosion caused by installing sheets over damp insulation materials. (See Moisture Retarder Data Sheet) RPR fabricates aluminum jacketing into precut – cut and rolled or flat cut pieces. Pieces are cut to accommodate various pipe and insulation sizes. They are produced to ASTM standards for industrial or commercial applications. |
